Okay, was it just last week we couldn't get out from under a drizzly cloud cover with temps in the 60's? Did I complain about that? Well, today the forecast is HOT and HUMID. Monsoon clouds to the east and temps around 86 degrees here at the homestead. BANG! Summer is here. Just like that.
I just nearly died when the water bill came yesterday. For a nasty, dry yard with hardly any water going to outside, it was $200! What?! And we didn't use all that much water, just the water rates rose, again. It becomes a monthly issue anymore, how much more can we as consumers continue to pay for water? I guess I better see where I can cut some more usage. I went to Point Loma a couple of days ago, and with the cloud cover for a month, everyone who watered on a scheduled basis have VERY green yards. I was a bit envious, until I remembered that they will have to mow more often than I.
So, we made it to the middle of summer already and the Girl has enrolled for the fall semester at college. She is hoping to crash a class at SDSU as well. It all seems so complicated. Meanwhile, I am still pursuing job hunting. What a depressing ordeal this has been.
We have a very green yard. And we don't water. And it needs mowing. Daily. And we have a well, so we don't have a water bill. And...and...and... Okay, I'll go away now. Glad to hear you all are gettin' warm out there! :)
