Typical summer weather really doesn't show up until July and lasts through the first part of October, but the calendar says it's the first day of Summer, so I'm good with it.
I purchased a couple of new cushions for the patio set last night, along with a tomato plant for the patio, at Wally mart. I really only went there for a couple of things and came home with a ton of things. Top soil for the grass seeds that need to be scattered in the back yard, garden soil for the single tomato plant that will grow in the pot on the patio and various other stuff, but I really only went to see if I could find cadmium batteries for the solar patio lights. They didn't have those, but by golly they had everything else!
In celebration of Summer Day, I sat on one of my new cushions at the patio table and drank a cuppa coffee while doing some office work on the laptop. Really, now, how cool is it when you can go anyplace you want with your computer and accomplish something productive. Technology is amazing, and it's been good to live in a generation where we got to see the development of these discoveries. The weather was typical pattern style, low clouds and cool. but by 10:30 the sun was out and the weather was warming up. Stick Dog enjoys an audience in the back yard, so he was jazzed to be out there, as well. It's all about him.\
There were a couple of wild parrots in the rubber tree. They were actually quiet and I was surprised when they flew out. Their bodies are exactly the same shape and color of the rubber tree leaves and if they are in the tree, you can't find them. When they are in flight, they sound like a car wreck in motion. They are so loud and squaky! They show up in the summer from Mexico, but head south in the fall. They are fun to watch and these two were being comical, per usual. They were loving on the leaves like the leaves were other birds. They move slowly so that movement won't give away their location. Such clowns.
So, welcome to the most sunshine of the year day, except for here.
