Haiku Musings

I've been feeling a bit Haiku-ish these days. We've had an early season of humid and hot weather, with the most beautiful storm cells over the mountains. The sun comes up early and we can get plenty of Sunshine vitamin through the bathroom window in the early morning. It makes me miss the June gloom. Living here brings an appreciation for the gloomy mornings, with afternoon clearing in the summer time.

Oh summer morning
bright sun shines through the window
keeping us healthy

Sweet gloomy daybreak
how I long to see you today
stay for a cup of coffee

Work seems to be moving right along. I've been there 4 months, and it's the pits when you measure successful employment in months. I do believe that Advent isn't the type of company that would let you work your butt off only to lay you off at 4:10 in the afternoon. This is a small organization and there is plenty of open conversations, nothing from a corporate level that filters down to the peons.

The Girl has moved back home. There was a huge circus tent put over the sorority house for extermination at the end of the month, so the time was right to move back. I missed her, but we both had a good experience. I see the time coming when she will leave home for her own home. I am more prepared for that day.

Stick Dog is doing pretty good without the long lead at Dog Park. Crazy lady hasn't been there when I've been there lately, which is good for her, because I'd put the lead on him just because she was there. He's a goof. He was trying to get the plumber to play with him this morning, someone he doesn't even know, but don't let the UPS/USPS/FEDEX man come to the door! The battle is on!
