So, mom had surgery on her hip. They put the parts together with screws in the hopes that the bone will grow back together. I'm still not sure where it was broken, but I think it was at the femur. She was home by Thursday. That is amazing! Surgery on Sunday and home on Thursday.
There was talk about a rehab facility. I was hoping she would be able to go and get all the therapy she needed, but that was not going to happy. Mom wanted to go home, to the house and the dogs. Darn dogs. They are so spoiled that they just can't cope without her, but she can't cope without them so I suppose it's an even trade.
Both Sisters are doing their part in helping out. I am very grateful for that. After talking with mom, I can't see any need to run my hinny up the road. Things are being very well taken care of, Mrs. Storms is bringing food, Sisters are cleaning and re-heating food and the CNA is doing what ever they do during the day.
It will be months before we know if the bone is growing, and in the mean time, she won't be driving to Texas to see my Aunt. I know she will miss not doing this, but she has to stay home, or close by.
Stick Dog has finally shed the long lead. Hurrah! He's ready to go when I say, "let's go" and head toward the gate. I am glad the days of the lead are gone. But Dog Park days are usually short. Still too many weirdos and then there is Chihuahua Lady. Gotta hand it to her, she's persistent. Tonight, when she came into the park at the back gate, there was a run on the front gate with people trying to leave.
After my very busy week last week at work, the boss asked me to take it back to 4 hrs per day. Yeah, right. I cut back today and got it to 5 hrs. Someone has to understand, growth means growth to all. More work demands more time. I've itemized my entire day, and will continue to do so because when I submit my next pay card, I will submit my itemization as well. Cutting back means someone will not get something done today, and if something more important comes along, they will be pushed back even further. We'll see what happens.
I'm glad the surgery went well, and that she is being well taken care of.
ReplyDeleteLOL about people rushing to leave when Chihuahua lady shows up.
Hope the work hours sitch gets straightened up soon!
