| A dog and his ball |
These days have also brought very nice weather. Not that we really have all that to complain about, but there's something about a nice day in January, where you can be sleeveless and go to the park. Those days are just wonderful. Also, warm days and cool nights in the fall are my favorites. I guess I just like nice days. Today we went to the dog park. Stick Dog loves to play ball, and after several months of training, he comes to the gate to leave without having to drag the long lead around. A huge step in the right direction. Now, however, he has developed an aggressive act that has me scouring the Dog Whisper site for an answer. He has decided that when I say, "let's go home now" that he has to take his ball and head toward the gate, and along the way he finds it necessary to run up to the nearest dog and growl with a mean face and act all "up in yo binnes" like to this other dog. He looks and acts mean! And if the other dog reacts, he greets it gladly. Oh boy. Stick Dog keeps me on my toes!
My facebook has been disabled. My good friend, and former boss' granny died yesterday. This former boss was the reason I opened up a page, to begin with. She was getting married and I was trying to stay up with her after she had been terminated from our office. I wanted to know all the details of the wedding as it was being planned. That was a bust! She seldom put up anything, and there were very few pictures posted of the wedding. However, because she is a good friend, I've gotten to know her family. Her granny was 95 and in poor health. We have prayed for her for several years, as well as her entire family. They had a facebook page to keep the family informed on what was going on. When granny and my friends parents moved out here, I got a chance to meet her in person. She was so special to my friend, and obviously to her family based on the facebook page, and the family was huge, amazing that one person can be the oldest person of such a large family, that I enjoyed meeting her and getting to know them. They moved back to IL a couple of months ago even though granny was terribly weak. She lived, and made it through the holidays. Now she lives in Heaven.
All that to say, I did say when a certain person dies, I would disable my facebook, so I did. I might miss it, but really, probably not.
I was looking forward to some fun last weekend, but the nasty cold that was going around stopped by my house, so fun weekend was gone. I am better now, so the new weekend is here. Just because the Girl had some nasty barfy bug doesn't mean it will hit me this weekend, surely not.
