The Girl turned 21 on Sunday. I look at her and wonder how all this time has passed. I remember so clearly the day I found out I was pregnant and the day she was born. Every event is pressed into my memory like a state seal on a license. I even remember the clothes I wore on the day she was born.
Now she is old enough to act on her dreams. She has a couple of semesters left of school, but she has a lifetime ahead of her to live. While I am on the downside of Mount Life, she is moving up the opposite side of the slope. I look forward to seeing how she chooses to live her life, her choices and her mate. I pray for these things daily.
I know that life can be scary, and I know she wants to share it with someone. I hope he comes along soon. Happy Birthday, Girl!
I remember the first Sunday I saw her at church. She couldn't have been very old, maybe a few weeks? I think it was our first Sunday visiting. I remember when she got bigger she wouldn't go anywhere without a hat on! And those blonde curls. How can she be 21 already? And Harrison too?
