Projects are seldom fun, but the end result is satisfying. This weekend everyone left me, and I am not one who sits around, though it does sound appealing.
The Husband went to see his dad. I'm glad he does this, and I would have gone, except the boss is out of town and the timing isn't the best. He's happy going there. They shoot guns, eat bacon and relax all weekend while granny takes care of their every need. The Girl is at the sorority house doing something sorority-ish for the week end, so that leaves Stick Dog and me all alone. Not complaining! Though Dog really likes all his peeps to be home, he's totally digging getting half the bed to himself. A dog on the bed is a story for another day.
I planned for 2 weeks a couple of projects to be done this weekend, while I was alone. One of them is to replace the faucet in the front bathroom. The faucet is horrid and it stinks. I can smell metal when it is corroding and it makes me sick to wash my hands or brush my teeth with that smell. So I took that offensive faucet out, went to HD and picked out a new one. I did get it installed, but I can't tighten down the drain line good enough. I don't have the strength to do it. Thankfully, my other project is a new gate. I have hired a man to build a new gate and I've asked him to tighten my plumbing mess. At the end of the day, I will have a working sink and beautiful new faucet and a new gate! That makes for a profitable weekend!
Then I will go to church with my friend Sandi and we will have dinner following. Seriously, if you have to spend a weekend alone, it might as well be full and fruitful.
That DOES sound like a very profitable weekend. Sometimes (okay, often) it's much easier to accomplish things when all alone!
