Everyone knows that driving through the Home Depot Parking lot is a dangerous feat. You have contractors, shade tree contractors, men and women who are just in for parts and day laborers in the tent. You always take a risk of driving through the parking lot that is loaded with nails and debris and count yourself lucky if you don't escape without a chip in the windshield or a flat tire. Add to that, our home depot is remodeling, actually enlarging the store.
The powers that be took out the attached Ralph's grocery (rip Ralph's I truly miss you) and are now building on a new portion of Home Depot. The parking lot is a mess, so add that to the list of reasons why driving though the parking lot is dangerous. Now, add in that many of the drivers in the lot are not insured and it is just a recipe for failure.
I risked the trip and failed. As I was pulling into the lot, a string of cars on my left going out of the lot were waiting at the light to turn. At the end of the string (maybe 3-4 cars) is a parking stall lane where the day laborers wait for someone to come by and hire them. You can NOT pull out of that lane when there are cars waiting to turn on to the major boulevard. Don did, and just as he was darting out, I caught a glimpse of him as he started to show past the bumper of the waiting car, into the path of my car.
We hit. It wasn't too bad, but dog gonit! I didn't appreciate it at all. Now I have to get my car fixed. Thank the Lord, he was insured! How awesome is that! Still, I hate having to have car work done.
BAH! Don, Don, DON! Pay attention next time!
