This is why! The weather lately has been rainy and it's has been well needed. Our yard is so dead, but there is some green life bursting from the shambles. I actually pulled some weeds between storms yesterday. They will always be the first thing up when water is put down.
Last night, there was a mighty wind that blew through. It was amazing. Stick Dog hated it. The leaves in the rubber tree fluttered like feathers on a dead bird. The palm tree fronds whipped around like buggy whips. They were so loud! Patio chairs moved across the patio and dog toys went where ever they wanted. It was a night to remember. Stick Dog barked so much, that I had to keep him in the house, where he tracked between back door and living room window. Bark at this noise, bark at that noise, bark because the wind was whistling in the window. It went on all night.
I dragged his sorry carcass to the bed and held him down so that we might get some sleep. It didn't work. By the time the Husband got home, the wind had started dying down and the gnarly beast did the same. Around 4 we got to sleep.
Then I got up to get ready for work and this was the temperature at my house. The world is about to end, according to some ancients, and we have nearly frozen to death over night. I was thanking God for the hot flashes. It didn't warm up that much today, around 59 degrees. I wore a sweater all day, unusual for me. It was good. I am hoping for a better night tonight. I would love to give the dog, and the cat for that matter, a sleeping powder to help them find their happy place.
