It seems so early in the year, we usually see them in summer, but they have been hanging around for a week. They sound horrible when they fly, squawking all the time their wings are flapping, but they are so fun to watch. They are clowns. Stick Dog, most commonly called Sparky, doesn't dig them. He dashes out the dog door and chase birds in the sky. He will also chase the helicopters. Like, can he really visualize catching them?
The parrots had not been around for a few years. There was a rumor that someone had been capturing them and selling them, I knew the nests in Point Loma had been discovered and probably raided for the eggs. I'm hoping that the game warden was involved and captured the thieves. When they started showing up, I was thrilled. It may mean the population has increased and they are more common in the area and expanding.
The week is over and I may be ready for the time change, but I will know better on Monday. For someone who has sleeping issues, I really don't like the spring time change. I honestly have never liked any time change. It may make me want to move to Arizona. That and the gun laws. But, they don't have beaches, so I will probably stay here and complain about the time changes.
I've long wondered what Stick Dog's real name is. I like Stick Dog, that's why Penny is Mama Dog on my blog.
ReplyDeleteHis real name is Ranger, but he gets called everything but. Sparky is because he is full of static electricity right now, and I'll call him Sandy when we are back from the beach. He adapts.
