Zowie! Today we entered into the 21st century. It finally happened. It was inevitable. I held out as long as I could. My mantra was, "you can't make me pay to watch T.V.". We have always used the rabbit ears to capture the signal. Then someone in charge made it impossible to use the airwaves and we had to purchase a "black box" to digitize the airwaves and transport it to the television. You would think in this day and age of technology, we would never have to do this sort of transfer. Their reason for this change was to allow the emergency services to use the airwaves for it's responses....or something like that. Anyway, watching digitized airwaves made me nuts. I now have to pay to watch T.V.
Still, the REAL reason we decided to get cable services was because AT&T just wasn't doing their job. What a surprise! For absolutely eons we've been customers of AT&T. We've used them for DSL and phone and have kept them, but they just are not customer or service orientated. After a year of very slow, and I mean dial-up slow, Internet and the dropping at the worst time, like there is a good time to be dropped, I made the call...you know the one that gives you a world tour to the Pacific Island nations with operators named Sunny, Jessica or Ben. First thing they will tell you is, you need to replace your modem. After 3 modems, and 2 hrs on the phone with seven different people, I finally was transferred to the conus and talked with a real American who said, "I can see the problem is on our line", and I nearly fell off my chair. A work order was placed, and tech came out, twice, and still the line would slow down. I said my next call would be some other provider. When it began to drop last week, I made the call.
So we have cable for the computers (including my new laptop), phone and yes! television. Who knew!!! So now I have to be careful that I don't get whip lash from the speed on my computer from site to site. Wow! I feel like one of the children from Willy Wonka in the chocolate factory, all giddy.
Ranger did pretty good in class this week. He is definitely a dog with his own mind. If he doesn't want to lay down, he just wont. He showed some aggression to a couple of little dogs. This can't happen. His appointment is Friday for the BIG event. Poor baby. He will graduate next week from his puppy class. I wonder what happens if he doesn't? Do they take away his puppy hood? I wonder if he will ever learn to hike his leg? Oh well, I love that dog even when he is naughty. I will post a graduation picture next week, if he makes it!!
I think it must be something to do with the name, our Ranger rarely hiked his leg. He always squatted! hahaha!
