A New Puppy Class!

Hurrah! A new class for Ranger. This one should be great fun and he only has two other classmates. The teacher/trainer seems very confident and qualified. His classmates are a female short-hair border collie and a male Portuguese water dog.

We will be learning a few things about agility and some more behavior techniques to get the little guy to behave and follow commands. Today we learned to teach a touch technique, come from a distance and ask permission. This should be interesting. Oh, and Ranger's favorite, crate training. Yippee.

The fellow border collie loves water and laid right down in the pool, Ranger Man wants nothing to do with a pool. I may just get a pool and put it in the yard and see what happens. I hope he and Naomi will learn a lot and have some fun. I'll also try to remember to bring the camera next week.

So far, no more floor tiles have been excavated. I have no idea what got into his head. I know the day is coming when he is totally trustworthy and I'll like that day.

Naomi has been working a lot more these days. I guess the powers that be have realized that you can't get work done without workers on a regular basis. She had a day off yesterday and remarked that her feet don't hurt. Her next schedule has her working 30 hours for the week. Better get the Epsom salt and foot bubblier out. She's going to need it.

After a very cold start to July, we had a very hot middle, and now at the end we are back to cool. The strangest weather ever! Yesterday the drizzle was so heavy that it was dripping off the roof like rain. Cliff and Francisca didn't come prepared for our weather. After so many years living in the high desert, they only know that after April it is short season.

  1. I can't wait to hear how Ranger does with agility! I wanted to do agility with our little cocker/poodle mix and she would have been perfect for it, but my knees could never have stood it. *sigh*
