The Girl is feeling better, after her bought with something icky over Thanksgiving. She had her meal over the week, as we all indulged in leftovers. The last of the dressing was finished up today.
We did get quite a cold snap over this week. There was frost on the roof tops and it was very cold. The weather was clear so the nights were freezing. It was sad to see us shivering in the night because the heater isn't on at night. With only a wall heater in the living room, it makes no sense to run it with the bedroom doors closed, except to warm up the dog. That isn't going to happen. So we froze, had to put another blanket on the bed. I had to tuck them in to keep the cold air from seeping up under the covers.
This picture is for a friend of mine who lives in Washington state. Only she would appreciate a lighted pink Christmas flamingo as much as I. This is on the lawn across the street. They are new home owners and have a little girl, much about the same age as the Girl was when we moved in to the 'hood. They have really put up some lovely lights, but the flamingo was the bomb! Only in California can you live like it's still 1950 with yard ornaments. When he is lighted, he's pretty impressive, but this picture shows you all the details, like the red boots and Santa hat, along with the green scarf. Totally the peak of decorations.
The work week was better. The phones were way out of whack on Monday and Tuesday, and everything was handled over cell phones. The fax machine still wasn't functional, and a majority of my work involves phones and faxes. Thankfully we made it though the week, and most fires were put out. The lack of phone communications made some folks pretty unhappy, but we all got though it. It cracked me up when lost messages from the 19th showed up on my voice mail. Say What???
So another week ends and we are all still working, eating and staying warm, even if it means wearing a jacket inside while lounging on the new sofa. I leave with this picture of one of us lounging in a very dignified manner.
