Thanksgiving this year is very low key. The Girl is sick, icky sick, so we decided that in the interests of all the world, we would sequester ourselves and eat as a family of 3. It all started last night...
The Girl and I went out to Mimi's for dinner. It was all good, and warm, and was fun to get out. Knowing that today would be a rush, the Girl cleaned up the house, vacuumed up after Stick Dog and made pie. What a pleasure it was to come home to a clean house that smelled like heaven.
After dinner, we came home to relax, as you can see by the picture. Stick Dog really wanted to lay down with the Girl so he wedged himself into the corner. By the time this picture was taken, the Girl was beginning to feel "sorta queasy" and it was just a matter of time before it was obvious what the next step would be. By 10 o'clock it was on. I feel so bad for the Girl, no one wants to be sick on a holiday, especially when she has to work on Black Friday. So much for having a relaxing and fun day off. Today she is feeling some better but a bowl was still in use and she's whooped. We will have a small dinner with all the yummy things that she probably doesn't feel like eating at this time. Left overs will be abundant.
