Wow! Hard to believe the Girl had another Birthday! That makes 20 of them! It's hard to not look back and reminisce about the birthdays of the past and all the events, but I also want to look at the future. As good as the past was, I think the future has so much potential and that is just darn exciting!
We celebrated her birthday with cake, my favorite food group, and presents, another favorite pastime. We had dinner at the Outback, a favorite eating establishment and had a great time. Then the Girl went out with friends. It's hard to see her go and celebrate a special time that we had with her for so many years. But now is the time for her to let others celebrate her birthday with her. I am sure that we still have first dibs on the birthdays for a couple of years.
But the time is coming when we have to let go. Not yet, though.
Another fun event this week was the Girl rushed a sorority at SDSU. She spent a week doing fun things, being checked out and eating some good food. After the "invite only" event on Friday night, was told to stay at home and wait for a phone call on Monday evening. So she did, and she waited, worried about what would be expected from her. Around 9:30 a large group of girls showed up, sang her some sorority song and gave her an invitation to join the sorority! Whoopee! So now she is a pledge. Let the games begin!
On my hand, we are still waiting for a judgement from the judge for the lawsuit against the large real estate company. I don't really care, one way or the other, but it would be nice to know what the judgment is and how the judge came to a conclusion.
So the week is marching along, and finally...the end is coming to all the work from the December rains. Some residue is left to be taken care of, but most people have their homes back together and are living full and free lives, until the next rent payments. Ahh the simple pleasures of life.
Happy Birthday to the Girl! :)
