The Weekend.

Being unemployed has it's perks, and one of them is not knowing what day it is. So every day is a weekend! The weather has been very nice, lately, so I've actually gotten outside a little and pulled a few weeds. We finally did the unthinkable and hired a gardener to do the lawn. Just knowing the lawn is on a maintenance schedule makes working it a lot more rewarding. I hated not knowing when the next time the lawn would be mowed. I could do it, and have done it exclusively in the past. Working made that impossible, and the Man working 6 days a week made it impossible to commit to mowing, so hiring a gardener was a good thing, to quote Martha. Not to mention it was marvelous to see the yard looking good. Now, I will get the weeding done (I will spray the darn things) and hopefully be able to maintain my portion of the yard work.

I also need to get my hinny in gear and head off to the dump. I watched "Clean House" and the awfullest houses in the world are aired there! It gave me nightmares, but it certainly made me NOT want to hoard anything. These people have so much junk and TRASH that it scared me silly! Cable TV has it's purpose! I hope to never see that sort of behaviour in my house. Then I looked into the garage....That is my goal while waiting for a job, clean out the garage. I have stuff in there that belongs to other family members and stuff that needs to go to the dump, therefore a dump run is necessary. I will not be able to take the Man with me, he will not get rid of the junk. The Girl is my best helper, she is such a minimalist that getting rid of stuff is her speciality.

Stick Dog has enjoyed my unemployment. The dog park is his Disneyland and since there is more time for him, he gets to go more often. I believe he thinks I am his slave, designed to throw all toys, drive him around, feed him, pet him and pick up after him. He is so goofy.

The Girl is marching on with sorority doings. She's found out who her big sister is and it seems to have become less stressful trying to make the grade. I am very proud of her, this is a big step in her life. It has a lot of prestige for a lifetime. Again, I am amazed at the very different road taken from the original plan. It just goes to show that we really don't have full control over all the events of our lives.

So, I finally got my unemployment paper work in the mail. I am worth $89 a week. Better than a stick in the eye, I suppose. Don't know when I'll start receiving it, but hey! In the meantime, I MUST be job searching, according to my paperwork, or else. I suppose there are some who don't look, but I have a hard time with people believing I am a crook first. Even the justice system believe innocent until proven guilty.

It will be interesting to see where I end up next. Always an adventure.
