Last night, I took Stick Dog chew shopping. He likes to go to Petsmart and sniff all the chewy things. He's a pretty sauvey shopper. He spends quality time with each package of duck wrapped rawhide chews, "real" bones in plastic wrap, shys away from hooves (don't know why he doesn't like them), and snoodles all the hanging toys. It seems strange that a dog likes to shop.
After he chooses a package of duck wrapped chewys, we head off towards the pet beds. I'll throw one on the floor and he rolls around in it and nips at it. He's not being nice, he's wanting to tear it up. So I'll pick it up and then we head to the cat food isle. Tommy needs food to feed himself and his nemesis Groucho, who shows up more often in the garage than he should, eating up all Tommy's food.
Then comes the time Stick Dog looks forward to the most. From the time he enters the door, he looks forward to the treat at the end of the line. At the check out counter, the cashiers will give a dog a treat. Stick Dog sits and waits patiently for his treat, looking up at the cashier the whole time with excitement in his eyes. Last night, the cashier told him to sit, and NEVER gave him a treat. He wasn't ready to leave when I paid the bill. I had to tug his leash to get him moving. I gave him his new Clifford toy to carry into the car. It was some consolation, but it wasn't a treat. Really, now! If your store policy is animals and treats, follow through!
Yesterday, I got an email from a tenant needing to have some serious work done at her home. She had tried to call my office line, tried to email my office account, but there was no response. I had given her my personal account because the office account wouldn't accept pictures and she had taken pictures of a leak and emailed them to me months ago. Not having any other way to reach me ( I had specifically told her not to use this account for more than the pictures), she did email my personal account. I don't blame her. I emailed her back and put in C21's acting manager email address as well, saying I no longer work for C21 but that I was also cc-ing this email to the manager so that she was aware that there was a need that needed attention. I quickly received an email response from the manager asking if we were staying dry in the rain and thanking me for forwarding this request to her. Really? Who was suppose to be transferring the phone line and on line service requests? My job was not a secret, I showed up each day and worked hard. How did "they" think it would get done after I was gone if someone didn't step in and take responsibility? Brother.
Dumb cashier. Who tells a dog to sit then doesn't give him a treat? Poor Stick Dog.
