Great advice!

My whining and complaining cause some great people to give me some wonderful advice concerning my feet. I will say that progressively, my right foot is developing more a painful condition, but my left foot is feeling better.

First off, thanks to those you said to wear shoes. Sounds silly, but I am from SoCal where flip flops are considered fancy dress shoes. You can get them bedazzled, fancy flowers, wedged and platformed. Colors are vibrant and some are varying shades. But they are all flat on the foot bed. I started wearing shoes more often in the fall, and found my walking tennis shoes were the most comfortable on my feet. Still, who wants to get up and put on shoes! And, Stick Dog believes shoes are synonymous with going to the dog park. Pesky dog becomes obsessive dog. I stuck to my guns and wore my shoes and they help make my day easier.

Then I had a friend who suggested heel inserts from Ortha Heel. I hate the look of most orthopedic shoes. Honestly, how pretty can they look with a dress? So I purchased the inserts and stuck them in my tennis shoes and felt a difference immediately. The pressure on my arch was very firm, and I thought a bit too much, but I left them in and used them all day on Thursday. I also had a friend suggest some flex exercises to stretch my calf and combined that with the inserts. By the end of Thursday, I was feeling less pain. Seriously! Did the same yesterday and I can tell the swelling in my left heel is going down. Yowzer! I may survive this!

I had another friend suggest cold lasers. I looked around, called my chiropractor, and found that not one of us knows anyone who does that. It had some promise to it, and I was a bit disappointed.

All this to say, to quote Gloria Gaynor, I will survive. But I may whine some more because it reminds me that my voice is still working.

  1. I'm glad you are getting some relief! I'll see if I can find someone in your area who treats with the lasers.
