Home again, home again, jiggity jig.

Ahhh, the thrill of being home. Unpacking and washing clothes, loving all over the dog, looking at a week's worth of mail, realizing that there is a ton of work to be done and bananas that need to be used. Best part, it's cooler than when we left!

The trip home was great. We got up sort of late, but not really for me. We took our time getting out of the hotel and headed back to Atlanta. We decided to stop and take the Coca Cola tour since our plane didn't leave until nearly 6 in the evening. We put the address into the GPS and off we went. We got off at the GA Tech off ramp and wen into down town to the factory. I guess classes have started at GA Tech because there were a lot of students everywhere. It's a beautiful school, made of brick. We also saw a group of segway users. Seriously, that makes me think your lazy. But, I have never used one and would probably like it if I did. So I won't judge too harshly.

The Coca-Cola tour was great. The film at the beginning was a bit lame, but whatever. The factory tour and information was really fun to see and we did get to try all their flavors. No matter what any one tells you, the Beverly drink is soooo nasty! I did like one of the drinks they make for some country far away that is a cranberry lemonade. After tasting many of the drinks, I was done and sugared up! Thankfully you can just sip and be done. Whew!

After that we headed to the airport. It's gonna be a long day and we waited about 3 hrs for our plane. It's fine, I got the internet box out and was able to do some work. Of course, yesterday was the day for everything to break, and of course it has to be fixed right away. As if. So everyone did their part and we will finish the non emergency work on Monday.

Our flights back were not quite as interesting as the ones there. Lots of cloud cover below so there were not landmarks to bee seen. No rivers or cities to mark the passing of flight time. That was probably good, I had a migraine start up on Thursday, so that would have been a bit much visually to really take in. My seat mate on the flight to Phoenix was very nice, she played her tablet card game the whole time, and ate peanuts. With the migraine and the peanut smell, it was rather difficult to concentrate on anything. I don't know if I wanted to eat the peanuts or ask her to please close the bag, but it was my attitude so I kept my mouth shut and tried to read a book. She was a bit hippy so the seat space was minimal. We all lived and touched down safely at Phoenix in 97 degree heat.

We headed to the next gate and waited just about a half hour for our last leg. This plane was much nicer, seats more comfortable and more space. By this time, it was dark and we could see some city lights in the distance and some lightening far to the north from the monsoon weather. When we got to the mountains of San Diego, the cloud cover was pretty thick and we couldn't see anything before we dropped below them. It was so cool to see my city in lights. Again, we landed safely and headed to baggage claim.

The Girl came to pick us up with Stick Dog. Ahhh what a great family reunion! I missed them both! She drove us home and we all visited until quite late. I really enjoyed the get away and would do it again, but not too soon. I need to get back into the swing of life here. Girl has senior pictures this week and we have a lunch date on Monday. I need to get back to the diet, which was a total loss during the week, and eat more veggies and fruit. I miss the fresh tomatoes here and will be indulging in tomato sandwiches for a couple of days.

I also will try to see if I can get some pictures to load. But even I know some challenges are more than I can do.
