Okay, we have cooled a bit, just a few degrees, but it's in the double digits, now. This is typical, and that is why it makes me wonder why on earth all the stores in the US have to put away the fan stock after Labor Day. We have at lease 3-4 weeks of hot, hot weather to follow and everyone needs a fan! The only thing you can do is order on line and pick up at the store. You can not go to the store and purchase a fan, not even at the home stores! It's okay, the cool weather is coming and I'll have fond memories of the warm days behind us.
The week was pretty good, property management. The boss, well he's another story. My only words for him would be, "don't even think about messing with my salary". We actually haven't had too many a/c problems, but that was probably because we've dealt with them most of the late summer. I think each a/c unit in every home has been repaired, recharged and is humming along. Now we need to remind everyone to change their filters to the heaters.
Stick Dog has had a bit of problem with the weather. The winds pick up in the afternoon and the palm tree next door, that is so very precious and expensive ( and not adequately maintained) has fronds that fall out and hit the ground. This tree is on the property line and so we get quite a lot of them. I've taken to tossing them back over the fence. Done it for years. If they had the tree trimmed as it should, I wouldn't be dealing with this today. The fronds have to be discarded in the regular trash since they are not "green trash" and I won't fill my trash can with fronds. Over they go! If they fall on her side, and show above the fence line, Stick Dog becomes rabid. He will not leave the fence or stop barking. I have to take the hedge trimmers out and clip the tops off so he can't see them. It's such a game to him. It's such a nuisance to me.
So this week should have some surprises in stock. So far this weekend one fence has fallen and I fully expect to have some people complaining about the tree branches, and I can pretty much guarantee that one lady in Pacific Beach will call me to have the gardeners come and clean up her yard. She's like that.
