March

Okay, it is March. We spent part of the 1st in Lancaster. It was very warm up there, in the high eighties. I had a sweater and regretted in nearly right away. It was good to see family, though. I can't remember the last time I saw cousins, and I have no idea they their children had all grown and had children. Wow, time rushed by.

On the way home we went up into the mountains to the Cajon Pass. It was cold there, in the 50's. Wrightwood was covered with snow and at the 4200 foot line there was snow still on the ground. It always seems a bit odd to see snow in the desert with Joshua Trees. The drive was nice, though it was very long. Lots of traffic going home, and it seemed that there was the same amount going north. I don't believe any So Cal person had a car at home, they were all driving somewhere on the 15. Stick Dog was very happy to see us after being alone for 10 hrs. I love the way he greets. He will give a big dog smile. I can't describe it, but he will show his teeth and curl up his lip a little and nearly wrap himself around my legs. He is so goofy.

Today was a stellar day, temps in the 70's and 80's. Jeans place was 84, and it was just a bit too hot for house keeping. But it was done and she was happy. I had decided to make lunch while I was there and we ate together. I know she like it, and I enjoy her company. She feels so much better than 5 months ago. It is so good to see.

However, she didn't have a good day yesterday. She decided to try to drive and made an appointment for a perm at the beauty parlor. When she went to go home, her battery was dead. She called AAA, and they couldn't get it started, so they had to tow her home. No biggie, except she can not step up into the tow truck to ride home. She ended up sitting in her car and riding in it on the flat bed. Honestly, I think it was illegal, but I can't imagine, without giggling, how that must have looked to passers byers. And the ride must have been a bit traumatic. She was not planning another trip anywhere soon. The battery man will come out and put in a new one. It is only 1 year old and this should not be happening. She was still a bit ruffled today, but after talking about it, she seemed to let it go. Poor lady.
