Oh yes we did!

Wow, just checked to see when my last entry was, I am a bit ashamed for the thoughts I've had of others who aren't updating their blogs. I apologize for those thoughts.

The summer is 2/3 gone, by school standards. We, on the other hand, are just approaching the summer weather pattern. It will get hotter next month and stay hot through September and part of October, so we are so in the beginning of summer. I can remember, still, the 100 plus degrees of Labor Day weekend a few years ago. More than that, several years ago we had a Saturday of 103 degrees and a wedding in a church where the a/c wasn't all that, and NONE in the fellowship hall. It was brutal.

More than heat, though, is that this is the busiest time of year for property management. Everyone is moving. It's total mayhem and add to that my boss had brought on some time sucking projects. It's never ending, it seems. But that gives me a bigger paycheck, and a bigger paycheck looks good in the bank and gives us money to do something fun. Like Disneyland!

I took some pictures, you know the ones of the Castle in the day and in the night. I also had a picture of the loot in Pirates of the Caribbean, and a picture of the skeleton in the same. Basically, the loot was a representation of my boss, the skeleton the employees. It was a good idea, just the pictures wouldn't load properly. Oh well. I'm sure the idea was etched in my brain and I will play with it for a few more weeks. It makes me chuckle.

The Girl and I went for a 2 day jaunt. We left on a Thursday afternoon, checked into a nice hotel and took their shuttle to Disneyland for dinner. (For those who don't know about Downtown Disney, let me tell you things have changed!). We went there for dinner and a movie. We had dinner in a New Orleans Jazz restaurant that has an entertainer who played a saxaphone, flute, keyboard and sang, though not all at the same time. He was good and he worked the diners. Lots of tips for him! Dinner was fabulous! We then hopped the shuttle to our hotel and slept, dreaming of the next day.

On Friday, we hauled our hinneys to the shuttle stop and rode over to Disneyland and spent the next 12 hours walking, waiting and riding. There were so many people, but honestly it is still the happiest place on earth. You can't imagine a place so busy that stays so clean! The bathrooms see hundreds each day, yet they are ALWAYS clean. The grounds are spotless and the employees are super nice. You leave feeling great. I must use that psychology at work.

We had our last meal of the day at the restaurant in the Pirates of the Caribbean. Again, a fabulous meal! I so enjoyed that meal. Knowing all the people who were waiting to get in, I never felt rushed. I was amazed, truly, at the ability to make each person feel like they were the most important person at the park that day.

We hobbled back to the shuttle and stumbled our way back to the hotel room, just in time for the fireworks. A good time was had by all! I haven't been to Disneyland in 10 years, and I would go again, but not stay as long. It was hard on my poor foot. I may just drive up some day and go to downtown Disney and eat at the restaurants. Big dreams.

Since, I've had my nose to the grindstone. It is very busy and some days, all I can do is just turn off the laptop and phone and watch a stupid television show to unwind. My story of the week is the tenant who believed that the CA law of 21 days after you move out is to do the cleaning and other stuff that needs to be done. Oh my. The law is 21 days to refund the deposit. It's been so entertaining. Oh, but on the sad side is the very expensive house in La Jolla with the million dollar view has a cracked slab. I hated to see that.
