Well...that is awkward!

I looked here today and said, "how embarrassing" when I saw how long it has been since I'd been here. I thought summer busy was over. I was so wrong!

I see we had Fall. It turned back to summer and last week it was 90 degrees and then 60's. We had summer and winter in one week. I still wear flip flops, but have put on a sweater. We are looking at a "rain event", seriously said on the news this morning, for tomorrow. I look forward to that. Just need some water on the yard. The flowers would appreciate a drink, too. Well, actually, we would like to see rain. Its a rare event here, and I have stocked up to stay home.

We went to the busy metropolis of Ridgecrest a couple of weeks ago for the Veteran's Day weekend. Greg went along, and he and the Husband, and the Husband's dad went shooting. The Husband has a couple of new guns he wanted to try out, and the shooting is free, just the cost of bullets. I don't believe either the Husband or Greg would hunt and shoot, but you never know about those rascally targets!

I've seen some targets that would make you excited to shoot at. Here's some.
William Tell TargetWilliam Tell, Lucky Gophera pesky gopherOsama and the ever fearful, yet already dead bin Laden.

I didn't go shooting, but did the "lady" thing and went shopping. Not my favorite thing to do, but one that is expected. I am not a shopper, but I am good company. I looked at each isle at the Dollar Store. I have to say I looked at the Christmas decorations and played with some of the toys. Didn't find nary a thing I needed, so we moved to Big Lots. I checked out the Faux fireplace heaters. Those baby's really put out the heat! In a few days, I may wish I had one. Our heater has an odd smell....

The Girl has started a job at an appliance repair company. It is a good job, but I don't believe it's her job. She would be an asset to a social group of teens and tweens. She is a phenomenal counselor for them. Her ability to listen and not interrupt, something I find difficult, and not try to give advice until it is asked amazes me. The girls will spend lots of time talking to her and at the time they are all talked out, she has formulated a solution, if they want it. She has done a great job at church with the youth group. I would love for her to find her calling in that capacity. We will see what happens with this job. She desires to help people, and ordering parts and making phone calls with grumpy folks seems to be frustrating to her.

Stick Dog is about to turn 4. When did that happen? He is such a fun dog, and I can't imagine not having him. When we brought him home, his whole body was as big as his head is now. He is pretty good with his training, and I have to hand it to him, he actually listens to me and obeys.

Kitty is hanging in there. He's showing his age, poor guy. But winter is here, by decree of the calendar, and he will hang out with us more than in the summer, when it is warmer. I don't know how much longer he will be around, but he is a sweet kitty.

Birds, they still live. That's all I can say. I think I will have to put them in the will for the Girl. She won't appreciate that at all.
