What's that you say?

"There's nothing to eat" is a common saying heard in this house. But I know it's bad when I say, "there's really nothing to eat". Since I had been gone a couple of days, the food seemed to dwindle remarkably fast. In reality, there is plenty to eat, if you want to open a can of refried beans or make some Kraft Mac and Cheese, but the real story is the granola is gone, as well as the puffy cereal and ice cream. The chip factor is pathetic. So, there's nothing to eat! My mission this morning was to get to the grocery store before noon so that I could make lunch with something to eat. For the most part, Ralph's has been my store of choice. Double coupons and I know it well enough to know when to go and get the best deal on meat. Since the new Albertson's is being built on the very next corner, and the Von's is across the street, I've noticed a noticeable decrease in the customer service at Ralph's. The employees seem to be grumpy most of the time, and they speak Spanish between themselves even when ringing up the groceries. That miffs me. Excuse me, while I write a check to help pay your wages could you please refrain from speaking Spanish to each other. You make me feel a little self conscience. You make me feel like I should be checking my zipper or my nose, or perhaps there's something in my teeth. Then I get home and find my bananas UNDER the lemonade. I'm thinking I heard that Ralph's may close with the new Albertson's coming in, so it may be time for me to become better acquainted with Vons.

We spent a couple of days at mom's up north. It actually rained while we were there, very unheard of! I saw my great-nephew for the first time. He is so cute! He looks like his dad with blue eyes. I can't wait to see him again. I visited with my two sisters and my mom, got caught up on all the events of their lives and they were caught up on the events of mine, not like much happens, but still! While we were at mom's, a new kitten showed up, and my niece came over and gave her some antibiotics for a respiratory problem she seemed to have. She is a cute little Siamese with long hair. I think mom has a new kitty!!!

Tomorrow I get my hair done! I really need to cut off a ton o' hair. It's too long and needs...color. I can't wait. Nothing like a new hair cut to make me feel revived. I will start working again in a couple of weeks and it's time to look like I could walk into an office without scaring the receptionist. Woohoo!
