Lake Cuyamaca

The Girl, the Dog and I went to the lake on Friday. It's not a big lake, but it sure is pretty. The weather was fantastic, warm but not hot and a bit dry. We took up sandwiches and had a picnic and did a little exploring. Ranger hasn't been on a long drive since we brought him home in January, so I wasn't too sure what to expect, especially with the winding roads. He did well, didn't even seem fazed by the movement. He loved having a new adventure!

After our picnic we walked out onto the dock to look at the ducks and geese. There are oodles of both. Ranger would have enjoyed  playing with them, I think. But he didn't seem to sure about the dock. It moved and made metallic noises. We walked closer to the shoreline and he sort of got in the water, but not much! The Girl took him to the other side of the store to the boat ramp where he walked into the water up to his tummy and then bucked around like a horse to get out. I don't think Ranger is going to be interested in any water sports. He did find a ball, yes a ball, on the shoreline by the ramp. We found a spot that was pretty and had a really cool bench, where Ranger found a stick. He took this stick home with him.
Even the ducks need a boat on occasion!

After a little exploring we headed home. The Girl had a sunburn, even after she put on sunscreen. The Dog was tired, and slept the whole way home. He woke up at the turn off the 805 onto Mesa College Drive. He was sacked out! Later that night we noticed he smelled like an oak tree. It was a good day.
