Down time

With the middle of September comes a bit of a slow down in the business. Everyone is moved, school has started and now I need to catch up with regular non-emergent maintenance. It amazes me what needs to be taken care of. New window need to go in one apartment, a gate and fence need to be welded since someone hit the fence with a car and someone removed bars from the gate. Yep, both places are not the place I'd want to live. I don't understand this desire to damage anything that I live in.

The boss has been in Bali and this is how the 3 weeks have gone:
He moved in some tenants into a condo and left. These tenant have turned into the Nightmare of  All Time. I finally got a message to the boss that he needed to step in. He skyped and we discussed the unreasonableness of these tenants. The bosses assistant has to be prepared to offer them an out on the lease, it's that bad.

He left with an eviction on the books waiting to happen. This home is going to be sold, but the tenants wouldn't leave. They haven't paid rent in 6 months. It is in such a bad part of town that the boss had to request a sheriff's presence for the lock out. There is much to be fearful of, so he left town and left his assistant to do the job. Not only has she never done a lock out, but she is 24, young and blonde. The sheriff and the lock smith met her there yesterday morning, put the people out and the locksmith changed the lock. Then the boss told her to do an inspection. I had her put me on face to face so that I could identify  the perp who would try to kill her when  I go to court. She should never have been expect to do this. But that is my boss.

When the boss leaves, he takes the accounting department with him. During the month, several of our vendors have told me they haven't received  payment. Sigh.

But, we also had a couple of slower days. Got my house work caught up, watched some hulu shows and took a bit of down time. It was a very busy summer! We also had a day or two that was actually cool, in the mid 70's. It actually cooled down enough to run only one fan at night in the bedroom. I heard winter was coming. I think we won't have winter, just fall and maybe spring.

It's nearly time for our annual trek to Julian. It needs to be cool, we need to eat pie and I want to see some dried leaves. Maybe next month it will be like that. I ma trying to not get the Christmas rush feeling, but someone told me how many Saturdays it was before Christmas. Thanks a bunch!
