Okay, so I am marking down the days....last Monday, last Tuesday and tomorrow last Wednesday. It's sort of like having a special, fun secret. When I look at the boss, I am smiling big inside. There may be a na na na na na on the tip of my tongue.
Then I remember how it will be to the new gals, and I am somewhat sobered. But not completely!
Today the new gal got to use the new laptop. When we got in this morning, the boss was trying to load all the programs on. Yep, it wasn't happening too quickly. That's what happens when you work with a techy person. When we left at noon, the printer still hadn't been loaded on. I was using my old laptop and was able to print and scan the work orders, when we get a chance to learn them, all the while she tried to learn how to use Windows 8. Oh what a joy windows 8 is.
The Husband has it on his laptop and it is a miserable system to use. The new gal spent half the morning watching you tube tutorials on how to use the program. I will have to try them on the Husband's laptop and see if I can figure it out.
I had several invoices that needed to be processed and I needed to teach her how to do it. There was nothing to do but watch videos. So I did. The boss is paying for the time, so I will sit back and do nothing. Drives me insane, but I did it. Checked my face book, did some online window shopping, texted a few folks, made me a cuppa coffee, looked out the window, filed my nails. Basically did nothing of value.
I am going to shadow her tomorrow and let her take the lead in email and invoices. The end of the month can be brutal, but I believe I have thwarted most of the brutality by anticipating the onslaught.
Tomorrow, my last Wednesday.
