Today is the day I train the fill in gal. No permanent employee yet. I hope this goes well. The gal doing this is a full time student, part time at Home Depot, and the boss's babysitter. Yep.
She seems pretty sharp, but she also is a bit of a hyper person. I want to train only once and I don't want to keep being up beat about repeating. Hopefully this goes well.
update:
Okay, so like most training, it was like sticker shock. I gave her a 5 page info sheet so hopefully she can take what she heard and apply it with the mini book and get some sort of sense of it all. Tomorrow she will meet me at my house for a couple of hours. Goodie.
This job is unique and most of this will depend on your ability to put things into order. A scatter brain won't do well in this job, nor one who wants to make pretty. You have to be quick, reasonable and orderly to do this job. And you have to do it for all the property managers. Yowzer this will be fun. I have already gotten some feedback from one PM who is scared about the maintenance on her properties. She has the most, and it could create a disaster when they fall apart.
